Himalayan Organization for Organic Agri-Product Research &Development (HIMOARD) came into being, way back in March 2000, but the society was registered in the year 2006 under the provisions of Societies Registration Act. XXI of 1860 and H.P. amendment act. 1973. This organization started with the participation of bare 139 farmers in the year 2000 and at present the number of participants has swollen to more than 4500.

Society is primarily engaged in promotion of organic farming in the state of Himachal Pradesh with the objective to ameliorate economic status of small and marginal farmers, which constitute 90% of the total farmers of the state. Society has a mandate to cover all aspects of production technology, protection of crops, postharvest handling and marketing of produce. In order to achieve these defined goals, organization arranges masters training programs from time to time which facilitate us in maintenance of Internal Control System (ICS) which is a back bone of Organic certification.

 We have one Plant Health Clinic, Leaf/Tissue Analysis Laboratory and one Residue testing Laboratory fully equipped with latest instruments and techniques.
